PPW - Wind Farm Management System

PPWPPW is a software system, created by MCX Serwis, as an innovative tool rationalising management of a single wind power plant or many independent wind farms.

The PPW system allows facile management of a power plant or many groups of wind power plants made up of turbines of the same or different manufacturers.

Manufacturers provide complex engineering software for wind turbine management. The PPW environment is an intuitive, easy to use business-engineering system.

The system aids management of wind parks by gathering data from freely defined sources, planning and verification of production forecasts.

The application allows monitoring, reporting and graphical presentation of operation of the whole farm, as well as of each installed turbine.

The software delivers a possibility of visual monitoring of farms and service workers by a network of cameras located in the farm area.

The PPW system can be integrated with farm safety systems and can transfer information from alarm sensors or guard cameras located in the farm area.

All functions are accessible through an internet browser, due to which using the system is very easy and possible from any place in the world.

Functionality:

  • unification of the farm management interface,
  • gathering of data from any defined sources (e.g., measurement systems, from meteorological institutes, financial systems, etc.),
  • enhancement of the system by own defined coefficients (e.g., windmill height, wind direction),
  • planning and verification of production volume forecasts,
  • visual monitoring of farms and service workers,
  • systematic improvement of energy production forecasts,
  • the PPW system has been created for wind farm management, however the system is flexible enough to be used for management of any renewable energy system,
  • taking into account of service data in forecasts, e.g., planning of system shut-down resulting from maintenance, inspections, etc.

Advantages:

  • a smaller labour outlay due to production forecast automation,
  • adaptation to legal changes in forecasting methods,
  • energy production forecasting using PPW decreases losses resulting from deviations of production forecasts,
  • advantages for wind farm management personnel, due to availability of a simple tool of wide functionality in system maintenance,
  • access to all significant internal and external information thanks to one simple environment,
  • possibility of integration with the SOWE system.
