What is an Inteligent house?

An Intelligent house is a technology which enables incorporation of systems and devices in a house, flat or building into one system to adapt their operation to the individual needs of a client. Thanks to the innovative integration the user is able to easily manage and control the operation of the devices in a building at any time and from any place. The communication is possible through a panel placed on a wall in any room, controlled with the use of a remote control, computer, mobile phone or Internet.

Use

The intelligent house solutions have been replacing traditional systems in the Western Europe for a long time. Due to the extensive flexibility of the system, an increase of the functionality of a house, greater safety and big savings Intelligent systems are not perceived as a luxury but as a permanent element of a construction investment. They are used in private houses, office buildings, public administration facilities, hotels, sport, industrial and sacral facilities, museums.

The interface of the system - it clearly presents all information, facilitates system management and control. The picture on the panel is a visualization of a kitchen in one of our solutions.

Possibilities

Building automation gives amazing opportunities to its users, it changes the perspective of the building operation. The users not only can adjust the "house" to their needs but they can control, monitor and report the operation of particular devices. The following systems can be integrated and controlled: IT network, electric network, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, monitoring and alarm (cameras, intercom, roller-blinds, curtains, windows), fire-fighting system, access control, UPS, weather system, irrigation system, audio/video devices , house appliances, swimming pool systems (water treating, ventilation), etc.

 

Functionality

Below we will present only some of the practical functions that can be achieved with the use of an intelligent system:

lighting control – automatic switching on/off/dimming, creating own lighting scenarios as well as creating suitable atmosphere for different rooms;

 

heating, ventilation and air conditioning control – adapting the temperature requirements of certain rooms in the building to the preferences of the users parallel to the optimization of the energy costs. Such a result is achieved by correlation of the operation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning devices as well as roller blinds and windows depending on the weather, time of day and level of sun exposure. Appropriate adjustment of the operation of the devices as mentioned has an influence on a significant reduction of electric and thermal energy cost even to 30%;

 

blinds, roller-blinds, curtains, sunshades, etc. drive control properly adjusted control mode will unaided close or open certain elements at a given time depending on outside conditions or needs. The devices support heating system, safety and scene functions;

 

simulation of occupant's presence – at the time of users' absence from home the system simulates their presence through e.g. switching light on inside and outside the house at different times of day, pulling up and down the blinds;

 

safety systems - by integration of movement detectors, cameras and alarm the system automatically sends information about burglary to a given phone number. It will work the same way in the case of smoke appearance, additionally closing gas valve; in case of a leak it also closes water valve. The choice of function "leaving house" will results on all the lights in the house going down, closing windows, pulling down the blinds, lowering temperature and setting the alarm;

 

control of any device – we can control many devices such as garage gate, intercom, house appliances, radio, TV, DVD adapting their operation to the user's preferences;

 

data collection and analysis – the system can store important data connected with media consumption, additionally it can analyse them and present in a numerical and graphic form.

KNX Award 2012

We are very pleased to inform that MCX Serwis took a part in the international competition KNX Award 2012.

In this competition may participate companies from the all over the world which realized the most technologically advanced, intelligent and most extraordinary KNX projects for home and building system technique worldwide.

This year about 200 projects from 48 countries were submitted.

 

Project „ Residence near Warsaw” realized by MCX Serwis was among the nine nominees in the category "Internationall".

KNX is an open standard for management and control devices for all applications in home and building control, ranging from lighting and various security systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, monitoring, alarming, water control, energy management, smart metering as well as household appliances, audio/video and lots more.
